Returnable Girl (Pages: 116-156)

Summary:
Lucky? The dog? Missing !? Lucky for a split second went missing. Ronnie went ballistic, she threw a tantrum. Ronnie was worried about Paige not talking to her earlier that morning that she did not keep an eye on the dog. Ronnie felt guilty. -Garage door opens- Woof Woof . Turns out that Lucky was in the garage because their neighbors put him there, the neighbors saw lucky out in the cold and rain and put him in the garage for his safety. Paige was out of the normal because she had her period. Ronnie and Britnee were invited to Paige's house for a sleep over, with no parent or guardian , you can already smell trouble. They were all very bored, so they decided to call up some friends. Little did they know that those friends invited older friends and the house was a zoo when everyone was partying. Marissa came home from college and she did threw everyone out, but she did not help to clean that was all Paige's job. Sadly, Paige does not know how to clean, so Ronnie was left with that duty. Alison did not find out of a thing. Ronnie 2 weeks later received a call from her mom saying if she got a letter, a letter that Alison kept away from Ronnie for all that time. Ronnie is not holding on to the slightest bit of rope, before she heads over to Alaska. Ronnie's mom is ready to take her in.

Quote:
Ronnie stated "Of course with all that going on this morning, anybody would've had to rush like crazy in order to make the bus and anybody might have forgotten to bring Lucky back inside." (Lowell 118).

Reaction:
What this quote is talking about is when Lucky escaped and when she was recapping what had gone on that day. What was eye appealing was when she italicized the word "anyone". She was actually referring to her self and you can see that she used a similie, "... had to rush like crazy". This quote also brings up how careless Ronnie is sometimes and how  others suffer because of her wrong doings. When Ronnie throws tantrums and hits things or throws em around Alison feels her pain and she gets melancholy. The dog, Lucky, is symbolism. He is a dog that Ronnie always wanted and named Lucky, all in all, Ronnie has always wanted to be lucky, have happiness which is what the dog brings to her life.

Returnable Girl (Pages: 74-116)

P O S T # 2

SUMMARY:
Tis' the season to be jolly [: ! Ronnie was aiming with Cat, and Cat as always was very forgiving with Ronnie. Cat always was the kind of friend that will never leave your side even when the friendships bound to end anytime soon. Ronnie and Cat were talking only for a few minutes till Ronnie said bye. At school, Britnee, Sarika and Paige were not speaking to Ronnie, they claim to say that Ronnie is too much of a flirt, they're pretty much afraid of competition. Ronnie pulled the fire alarm just to have Paige all to herself so they can talk. They worked things out. Merry Christmas ! On Christmas morning Ronnie had her living room filled with presents all for her, from Alison. Alison announced that she wanted to adopt Ronnie. Ronnie at the moment felt a handful of emotions, but after a few minutes she felt at HOME. On New Years Eve, Ronnie went to Cat's house. Cat had cuts on her arms, Ronnie noticed, and Cat says that it helps her relieve stress. At Cat's house, Cat told Ronnie how her step dad Bud touches her and how her mom never believes her. Cat had something to show Ronnie, man it was not pretty, it was a porno video. Ronnie left, she did not want to see not one second of it. Ronnie arrived home, Alison was waiting for her with a welcoming smile. Ronnie told Alison that she WANTS Alison to be her legal guardian, and take her into custody and adoption !

QUOTE:
Ronnie said "Whenever someone hurt me, I would go over and over it in my mind, like an angry scab, picking at it until it was raw and bleeding" (Lowell 75)

REACTION:
This quote said from Ronnie shows a lot about her as a character. She is one who repeats the hurt someone caused her  over and over again. She does not forget it easily and would keep on picking at it till she cried or until something happens. That can be a problem. Ronnie someday may be faced with a major problem and it may hurt her, how will she react? Ronnie described her situation about going over and over the problem like a scab, she used a similie. Ronnie said this because she was trying to compare how understanding Cat is when she is hurt, Ronnie on the other hand would not be able to cope at the moment if she was hurt.

"Returnable Girl"- Pamela Lowell . . Pages 1- 74

Summary:
Veronica Hartman also known as Ronnie is a foster child. Her mom lives in Alaska with her two step brothers Danny and Derek. Ronnie right now is stationed at Alison Hauser's house in Pennsylvania. Ronnie's mom left her at her Uncle and Aunt's house and didnt come back for her. Veronica would get calls from her mom weekly but that was not enough. The uncle and aunt said it was enough, and made Ronnie's mom not call her. The real reason was because Ronnie's mom was in Jail for doing drugs. Kenny is Ronnie's step dad and he lives with Ronnie's mom. Kenny is evil as Ronnie claims, Ronnie wrote in her diary that once he sent Ronnie's mom flying through the kitchen, which shows how abusive he is. This story begins by showing one of Ronnie's side, her evil side. She was having a tantrum when she was accused of stealing money from her foster mom, Alison Hauser, who is also her therapist. Ronnie's mom says that some day she will go and get her daughter, Ronnie, she says that at the moment she does not have the money. The real problem here is that Ronnie's mom does have the money but she always spends it on drugs and alcohol. Ronnie is in the 8th grade at Liberty Middle School. That was when she met Cat, her only friend. Ronnie always wanted to hang out with Paige, Sarika, and Britnee because they were the popular girls at the school. Cat and Ronnie during the summer became really close that they were over each others houses everyday. When school started every morning they would be together in the bus. One day,  Paige was showing off her new silver necklace that cost $200 and Cat wanted to see the necklace. In the locker room, Cat got framed for stealing the necklace, it was in her shoes, Ronnie placed it there. Ronnie then was asked where it was and she snitched on Cat. Paige then praised Ronnie for saving her necklace and being a hero. From that day on, Ronnie got what she wanted, she wanted to be popular. But she ended up leaving her friend Cat, a friend who really knew her, for Paige, somewhere she did not belong. Paige did all sorts of bad things and dragged Ronnie into them, but most of all she shop lifted. Ronnie knew it was wrong and but her desire to be popular won her conscience, she never got caught. When Ronnie got home she went to her mom's room and took her charm bracelet which had a significant amount of value to Alison. Alison found out that Ronnie "stole" it and they had a talk. Ronnie felt lonely, just like Alison.

Quotation:
Ronnie said "I still believe in God, even after all that's happened to me" (Lowell 3).

Reaction:
This quote had been stated in the beginning of the book. It says a lot about the character Ronnie. It foreshadows what is going to be mentioned in the book. Lowell did not make the character Ronnie say that because she felt like it. Lowell put it there to symbolize how there's still hope in Ronnie's life. God is still in her life. God was introduced to her in the past, from her uncle and aunt. They would go to church and pray as well as be involved in religious events. God was there from the start and she has become distant from him because she has not found some one to take her. Ronnie by saying that , it shows that there is a sweet child inside of her. She is not completely evil. The second part Ronnie said "... even after all that's happened to me" (Lowell 3), shows that Ronnie is a child who has gone through a lot and that the author is going to mention later on in the book what troubled Ronnie in her childhood.
